We are looking for a well organised receptionist to join one of our well-established and prestigious clients based on the outskirts of Telford. The nature of this role will be working for a well renowned sports club where parents will bring their children to attend their classes, and this role will be pivotal in meeting and receiving the students to the site. As you will be first point of contact, we are looking for a bright, bubbly, friendly and welcoming individual that will all be part of the experience of encouraging these young sports professionals to participate in the sports they love. As you will be working in an environment with children, we will need to complete a DBS check before you are able to start in this position. The hours are Monday – Friday 3pm – 9pm (with occasional weekend shifts for cover).

Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Welcoming all visitors and members at reception.
  • Receive and record all visitors onto the registration/club management system as they arrive.
  • Respond to all general enquiries, including face to face, email, telephone etc.
  • Update, maintain and manage waiting lists – liaising with department manager
  • Receive payments (cash & card transactions) and recording all transactions.
  • Manage all bookings from enquiry through to booking and follow up – including deposit/ payment. Liaising with staff for arrangements.
  • Maintain calendar to include all bookings and parties
  • Maintain information boards – regular news etc.
  • Keeping reception area tidy at all times
  • Working with and supporting the office manager with all admin related correspondence.
  • Order stationery/ office supplies when required.

Club shop (based at reception)

  • Deal with the sale merchandise
  • Assist with stock take
  • Prepare achievement certificates for collection and sale.
  • Balance end of day transactions

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working as a receptionist or administrator or similar would be ideal
  • Confident and polite manner, as well as being extremely friendly, caring and encouraging to children attending the site.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Committed to customer excellence
  • Positive, efficient, and able to work calmly under pressure
  • Subject to a DBS check. An existing DBS check would be advantageous
