Double Celebration for Amanda

We’re delighted to share that Amanda Anderson has successfully completed the CIPD Level 5 qualification, supported by Prince Personnel.

Amanda, who joined the team at Prince Personnel in April 2015, has also now been promoted to a new role of Divisional Manager – Technical. This managerial role in the technical department will see Amanda oversee a team of three focused on continued growth. The technical team work on a wide range of roles from Supply Chain, Procurement and Operations through to Engineering, Warehouse and Logistics. Amanda had a chat with us to share a bit more information about why she likes working in this industry and how she’s got to where she is today:

Tell us a little bit about you…

“I fell into recruitment back in 2005 when I registered for a temporary job at a local agency after moving back to Telford from Liverpool at the ripe old age of 23. I started my career in recruitment about a week after! I’m a Mum to two daughters, with a 12 and 2 year old keeping me on my toes. My favourite place is home and I just love spending time there… and coffee is my lifeblood!”

Why do you like working in the industry?

There are so many things I could list but one of the best things has to be getting to play a part in changing people’s lives and helping them achieve their goals. The feeling you get when you make a call knowing it’s going to make someone’s life better is incredible – how lucky are we that we get to have those conversations. The relationships I have developed with my clients is another reason I love this job so much. I have worked with some of our clients for several years and would consider them friends. I love the process of developing those relationships. It’s incredibly rewarding knowing that they trust me to work with them as an integral part of their business.

What do you like about working at Prince Personnel?

The moment I met with Mike and Maria I knew that this would be the place I would call my work home for a long time to come. Prince Personnel really is unlike any other agency I have experienced. We are given opportunities to not only develop ourselves professionally but they also support us personally, too. Being a working Mum of two has its challenges, however working for Prince and knowing that I am free to be both Mum to the girls whilst fulfilled professionally is the best feeling.

I have had numerous opportunities to gain external training whilst with Prince. As someone who always has to have some form of learning on the go, these opportunities are critical.

What will you be doing in your new role?

As Divisional Manager for the Technical Division I will be continuing to build on our existing success and growth within this market whilst ensuring we are constantly supporting our clients and candidates to the very best of our ability.

We are always looking at ways to continually improve what we do and how we do things which means that complacency never sets in. The future for the division is exciting; we have a great growth strategy in place and I already have the very best team. This is a brilliant foundation for growth.

You’ve recently completed your CIPD level 5, how will this support your role?

Completing my CIPD Level 5 has been a massive achievement for me. The recruitment market is saturated and I feel that this qualification has given me and the team the opportunity to offer a deeper and more valuable service to our clients.

It has enabled me to provide a better quality of support and guidance when it comes to the recruitment process and attracting the very best talent, which in the current market is crucial.

The course also covered onboarding, training and development and effectively managing talent within a business. This knowledge combined with the insight I’ve picked up after many years in this industry is invaluable to our brilliant clients.

We wish Amanda the best of luck in her new role and look forward to seeing her progress in the company for years to come.
