A really good start for Blade

Prince Personnel is proud to announce Blade as the winner of our latest ‘Temporary Worker of the Quarter’, working within a leading B2B Consumer Household Product Supplier.

At Prince Personnel, we recognise temporary workers that go above and beyond in their roles. Blade is currently studying his AAT Professional Diploma part-time at Severn Financial Training based in Hadley, Telford. Blade balances this while working two jobs: one through Prince Personnel at a business in Telford on a temporary basis as an Accounts Administrator, and one with Sainsbury’s on a permanent basis.

Blade has shown a real commitment to gaining work experience that can enhance his future career in the Accounts and Finance sector. In his role as an Accounts Administrator some of his duties include logging and matching invoices and credit notes and checking and filing month end statements.

The feedback from Blade’s employer has been very positive. The line manager of the company, said:

“Blade has made a really good start with us and he is always cheerful and happy to help”.

We spoke to Blade about his current position and whether he had any tips for future candidates looking for temporary or permanent employment:

How did Prince Personnel help you secure and prepare for this role?

“Consultants Ben Lees-Bowyer and Emily Holland contacted me with a first opportunity to gain valuable work experience within the sector I have been wanting to work in. It’s just a bonus that I am getting paid on top of gaining this experience. Ben and Emily also sent me a link of tips to help me prepare for my interview for the role.”

What’s your top tip for securing a good temp job?

“I’d say a top tip of mine is research the company that you are applying to work at. Ben and Emily had also sent me a link for the company website that I’d be potentially working at, and this helped me so much as one of the questions that the employer had asked during the interview was: Have you researched what we do as a company?”

How did you feel about winning Temporary Worker of the Quarter?

“I was at work when Prince Personnel contacted me to inform me that I had won the award. I was definitely surprised as it was just out of the blue. It’s an honour to receive great feedback from my colleagues as I have nothing but positive and kind words to say about them. I can’t help but already feel a part of the family there.”

What’s next for you?

“I hope to further broaden my knowledge in Accounting and Finance, whether it will be here, or a different business. While studying for my past AAT qualifications, the management side of the sector has definitely caught my interest the most.”

Congratulations to Blade, what a great start for him in the Accounting and Finance sector!

Why do we recognise temporary workers?

We’ve consistently recognised a temporary worker each quarter for many years. It’s incredibly important to us given the vital role temporary workers play in organisations across the UK.

Why consider temporary work?

Blade’s a perfect example of someone using temporary work to gain work experience that can benefit his future career.

Temporary work is also a brilliant way to try your hand at a new industry or learn some new skills.

Many of the temporary workers we place end up extending their contracts or making the switch to permanent.
