Hard work pays off for Amy!

Prince Personnel is proud to announce Amy as our ‘Temporary Worker of the Quarter’ for October, November and December.

Amy previously worked in procurement in South Africa within the mining and minerals industry. In this role, Amy developed skills in communication, logistics and project coordination. It’s these skills that she feels helped prepare her for her current role in planning.

Prince Personnel’s Technical Consultant, Elle Wilson commented;

Amy very much deserves this award. Amy is committed to developing her skills and has really presented herself as an asset to her new team. Our client put her name forward for this award and it’s easy to see why. Her work ethic and skill-base is exemplary.”

Here’s what Amy said about her experience of securing a temporary position through Prince Personnel:

Elle sent me a lot of information about the company I was due to interview at, the full description of the role I was up for, as well as informing me of the way in which to prepare for an interview by understanding how the company conducts interviews. I was given links to the company and of the people who would be interviewing me so I could get an insight into their roles in the company and understand their experience”

At Prince Personnel, we like to make sure candidates are fully prepared with the information they need to present themselves in the best way possible at interviews. Knowing who will be interviewing you can really help with interview nerves.

We asked Amy whether she had any tips for securing a good temporary position:

“Ensure that you push to make a great impression in a short space of time and make yourself indispensable”

This is great advice for candidates. Amy also recognised the importance of utilising all of your transferable skills:

“You never know where you may be needed elsewhere within the company you are temping at and it may give you an opportunity to hopefully be kept on longer than a temp role”

Amy chose a cookie and cake hamper as her prize for being awarded “Temp of the Quarter”.

We asked how she felt about winning this award:

“It was very unexpected, but I was very grateful and thankful. It shows that hard work pays off”

Congratulations to Amy! We’re confident that Amy will keep working hard and embracing any opportunities that arise.

Why do we recognise temporary workers?

Temporary workers play a vital role in the success of many organisations and yet they sometimes get overlooked. It’s important for businesses to onboard, train and value these team members to set them up for success in their roles. We give businesses the opportunity to recognise the temporary team members that are thriving as part of our ‘Temp of the Quarter’ awards programme.

Why consider temporary work?

It’s a great way to try your hand at a new industry, learn some new skills or gain some experience to enhance your CV. Many of the temporary workers we place end up extending their contracts or making the switch to permanent.
