We are currently working with a well-known and established law firm based in Telford who are looking for a Legal Support Assistant to join their personal injury department on a permanent basis. The main function of this role is to provide enhanced support to the Fee Earners to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Liaise with Legal Support Services team on matters as required relation to file opening and dictation
  • Gather the initial client details electronically
  • Day to day typing of letters, memoranda, monthly reports, bill, file notes etc.
  • To be a point of contact for clients in the absence of the Fee Earner and to answer incoming calls
  • Maintaining diary systems where appropriate along with arranging and booking of meetings.
  • Prepare post and correspondence as required
  • File preparation, maintenance and updating client files
  • Monitor movement of documents and files including any backlog
  • Assist with the payment and processing of invoices.
  • Assisting with monthly billing.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards and the firm’s policies in general.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure that effective secretarial cover is maintained.
  • Deal with client information with the utmost Confidentiality.
  • Other support services including but not limited to taking minutes of meetings and initiating and replaying to correspondence on routine matters.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have previous experience in a similar Legal Assistant role, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a high level of self-management and initiative, providing a professional, efficient, and confidential service at all times. You will play a key part in ensuring clients receive a consistently high-quality and friendly service.
