Lisa Turner has been chosen as the shining star this quarter, and she’s currently on a placement covering maternity leave for a national training company based in Telford.
She’s working as an office manager and even though she’s only been with the company since May, the management team say it feels like she’s always worked there.
Her line manager, Laura Nelson, said: “I can honestly say that Lisa is the best temp we have ever had and when I started recruiting for the position, I never thought we would find someone as good as her to take on the role.”
Lee Pickford, who runs the temporary desk at Prince Personnel, in Grosvenor House, Central Park, in Telford, said the recruitment agency had been inundated with recommendations for the last quarter.
“Ever since the scheme was launched just over a year ago, we’ve been extremely pleased with the number and quality of nominations we’ve received each quarter.
“We pride ourselves on doing everything possible to ensure a successful placement, including pre-screening candidates, referencing, quality assessments, and legal checks. And this attention to detail has meant we received some very special nominations for this quarter in particular.”
Other candidates who also deserve a special mention for their efforts in the last few months include:
Jon – an IT warehouse technician at an IT equipment specialist in Telford. The company said: “He has performed all his day-to-day duties to the full and with a very professional manner – we’ve put him through the mill, sending him away working solo for days at a time at the last minute, and he has taken this in his stride and never faltered.”
Jackie – employed as a contracts controller at a Telford-based manufacturing company who “fitted in straight away – never shies away from any challenge or task. She never sits waiting for people to give her work to do and has picked up the role with ease.”
Winners of the Temp of the Quarter award have the option of choosing a hamper of goodies as a prize or asking Prince Personnel to donate £50 to their chosen charity, and Lisa has decided to make the donation to Brooke Hospital for Animals.
