Gaining experience through temp work during university and beyond
Will recently graduated with a degree in English Literature from the University of Reading and is now exploring where his career journey might take him. With aspirations to break into the journalism sector, Will has been using this transitional time to gain valuable experience and build his professional skills.
When he’s not working or planning his career path, Will enjoys taking time to unwind:
“Outside of work, I like to go on walks and enjoy playing video games with a nice cup of coffee – I’m a simple man!”
From temporary position to permanent placement
Will initially joined the manufacturing firm as an Administrative Assistant on a temporary basis, but his hard work and adaptability quickly impressed the team. So much so that from January, Will will officially become a Technical & Customer Services Co-ordinator following a recent business transition.
Will shares, “It’s an exciting new role that I’m already training for, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all pans out!”

Will’s top tips for temping success
When asked for advice, Will’s key tips are:
- “Patience – it may take time to find the right role, but you’ll get there eventually.”
- “Keep your CV up-to-date, and don’t undersell yourself.”

With permanent employment secured, Will is focused on the training ahead and is excited about taking the next step in his career.
