Description

Our client is a successful and growing charity who has a vacancy for an experienced HR Administrator to join their friendly and rewarding organisation initially on a 12 month fixed term contract, but with a strong likelihood that the role will become permanent in the future. The role will be reporting in to the HR Business Partner and will be predominantly working from home with the occasional team meeting taking place in the Shropshire / West Midlands area. My client will supply all the IT equipment and a mobile phone etc to enable you to work from home but you will need a suitable workspace and strong WiFi connection. The main purpose of the role is to support the organisation with all HR administration ensuring accurate processing of information.

Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:

  • To administer all offers of employment and on boarding processes escalating any on boarding risks in line with safe recruitment principles.
  • To advise employees, potential employees, and managers on safe recruitment principles.
  • To action all new starter, change and leaver actions reviewing for accuracy, ensuring in line with our policies, escalating where they appear outside of our policies, issuing appropriate template letters and updating records as required.
  • To prepare monthly payroll instructions checking for changes, starters, leavers and absences ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • To monitor and action the ticket system, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure a timely response.
  • To regularly audit data, ensuring accurate and timely recording on employee's records.
  • To advise employees and managers on day-to-day HR processes, ensuring they are following the correct procedures and versions of HR Policies and Processes.
  • To carry out all day-to-day administration of pay and benefits including but not limited to maternity/ paternity/ adoption pay, pensions, salary sacrifice schemes, sick pay, holiday entitlements and associated pay and benefits calculations.
  • To assist with employee relations cases as required, including taking notes at meetings.
  • Assist the HR Business Partner with Health and Wellbeing caseload administration.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous HR Administration or similar such as Recruitment or Payroll experience is essential
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office
  • Understanding of principles of safer recruitment including DBS, references and right to work checks
  • Great communication and people skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in your work
  • CIPD level 3 would be advantageous but is not essential
