Prince Personnel are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a successful manufacturing organisation, who due to a period of sustained growth are looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager to take the strategic lead over the procurement activities for the site, with a focus on developing a strategy to deliver on cost savings as well as ensuring planning processes and functions support the business objectives.

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the existing team of buyers and materials planners
  • Ensure that the planning and inventory management of materials and services are sourced effectively
  • Set and deliver on procurement strategy
  • Effectively source new suppliers and develop contingency plans for any risks within the Supply Chain
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance ensuring effective development in terms of supplier capabilities
  • Identify and maximise on opportunities for cost saving opportunities
  • Negotiate all terms and conditions for suppliers, ensuring a robust approval process
  • Ensure effective inventory management levels for materials and product


Skills and Experience required:

  • Previous experience in Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager role within manufacturing or engineering sectors with responsibility over both direct and indirect commodities
  • Experience and success within a fast-paced environment managing a global supplier base
  • CIPS qualification will be advantageous
  • Strong leadership skills with previous experience managing a Procurement team
