Description

Prince Personnel are working with a leading manufacturing business in Telford to recruit for a Purchase Ledger Clerk on a permanent basis. The role will be predominantly working on Accounts Payable but also Accounts Receivable and helping with Month End. You will be the 1st point of contact between external stakeholders (suppliers) and the finance department, providing an efficient and friendly service, to ensure continued good relations.

You will be responsible for:

Accounts Payable

  • Processing a high volume of invoices per month
  • To perform three-way matching on invoices to confirm correct price and quantity
  • To input and process the monthly BACS run and to raise manual cheque payments
  • To reconcile supplier statements
  • First point of contact for account queries
  • Accounts Receivable
  • To reconcile inter-company statements
  • To deal with customer account queries as and when they arise
  • To raise manual invoices for ad-hoc items when requested
  • To chase any overdue debtor balances from customers
  • To monitor and process all expenses

Month End Duties

  • To ensure that all purchase invoices are input before the month end deadline
  • To reconcile the three bank account statements monthly to the General Ledger
  • To ensure any outstanding invoices not interfaced but relevant to the period are accrued within the period

Skills and Experience

  • The successful candidate will need to have had previous ledger processing experience and good knowledge of Accounts Payable processes. You will be computer literate with strong level of Excel skills. You will also need good verbal and written communication skills.
