This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager who has previously set-up new warehouse systems, has organised a fast-paced environment and streamlined all process to be extremely efficient. We are recruiting on behalf of our expanding client who offer a fantastic work-family, with a good benefits package. This role will present the opportunity for the successful candidate to autonomously run the warehouse and logistics element of the business. The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing and controlling the stock, picking, packaging, despatch and logistics of goods
  • Managing a permanent team of warehouse staff and arranging temporary personnel as and when required
  • Recruiting, training and developing the warehouse team
  • Allocating manpower across the picking, packing and despatch areas
  • Review and analyse existing warehouse systems and process and assessing what improvements can be made
  • Strategically planning and forecasting ahead of peak periods and implementing strategies to cope with high-volume orders
  • Evaluating partnerships with current 3PL companies and ensuring performance and service is to standard
  • Assessing stock volumes and locations and looking at ways to improve
  • Working on continuous improvement projects utilising knowledge of lean principles to improve efficiency
  • Overall responsibility for health, safety and quality control for the warehouse team and facilities
  • Completing safety checks on Forklift trucks and company vehicles
  • Work closely with senior management team and provide weekly KPIs and reports on warehouse activities

Skills and Experience required:

  • Strong managerial experience in a warehouse environment
  • Analytical and strategic thinker
  • Previous experience implementing lean principles and improving processes
  • Highly computer literate
  • Effective communicator at all levels
