Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established traditionally run business on the outskirts of Telford. Working in a small and friendly office team you will be the General Manager looking after Business Management, People Management, Budgeting & Business Analytics and Operations. Working hours may increase during peak times between 8am and 6pm but it is dependent on workload.

Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Develop and clarify business structure and strategy
  • Sales & Marketing strategy alongside the Marketing Manager
  • Improve efficiencies and profitability
  • Business planning; including staffing and project work
  • Management and coaching of 12 full time staff; 5 directly and 7 through their line managers
  • Setting staff objectives in line with three-year business plan
  • Providing support to the team
  • HR for all staff; staff policies, welfare, contract etc
  • Setting of 3-year budgets alongside the Accounts Manager
  • Annual analysis of brand and sales channel profitability
  • Costings of promotions and product lines
  • Pricing strategy
  • Overseeing the planning and operations of the harvest
  • Overseeing the efficient running of Dispatch alongside the Dispatch Manager
  • May be required to undertake other duties from time to time to offer support to members of the team and Company Directors

Skills and Experience

  • 2 years in a senior management role
  • Experience in planning, setting and managing budgets
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of business processes and functions (sales, marketing, finance, HR, procurement, operations)
  • Strong leadership – organisation, delegation, objectives, individual coaching
  • Strong excel, numeracy skills and analytical ability
  • Commercially savvy – margins/profits
  • Ability to motivate, support and encourage a team
  • Copes well under pressure
