The Client:                       

We are working with a leading global manufacturing business in the Telford area who have experienced continual growth over the last decade. They have an opening for a Head of Supply Chain to join the business as part of the Senior Leadership team and lead and develop a department (covering Procurement, Planning and Logistics). The Head of Supply chain will be responsible for developing the strategic direction of the Supply Chain function ensuring return on investment, securing quality materials and building an efficient and effective supply chain. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Professional to join an expanding and innovative business with an exceptional reputation in their field.

Package:

  • Circa £50k - £60k per annum (depending on experience)

The Role:

  • Effectively manage and develop all supply chain activities ensuring the delivery of value-added service to the business
  • Review and update departmental practices in line with company policies, standards, laws and regulations
  • Develop and enhance supply chain relationships with effective negotiations for all materials and services (logistics and freight)
  • Manage procurement activity including identifying and put strategies in place to minimise risk and complications to the supply of products
  • Manage all supplier contracts across the business
  • Ability to forecast and analyse supply chain data to minimise risk
  • Develop Supply Chain strategy including both process improvement and cost-saving initiatives
  • Management and development of a current team direct reports
  • Build & develop effective relationships with all 3rd party providers

The person:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience of supply chain / Procurement management or leadership position within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working closely with international partners
  • Demonstrable experience of supply chain process improvement
  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain processes and strategic development
  • Previous roles may be Supply Chain Manager / Head of Supply Chain / Logistics manager / Purchasing Manager / Procurement Manager
