Description

We are working with a very well-established and highly prestigious company in the Ludlow area who are recruiting for an experienced Technical Buyer to support the Purchasing activities within the business in managing all aspects of supply and demand and oversee a small team of Buyers.

The Technical Buyer will be responsible for:

  • Act as a senior member of the department and oversee a small team of Buyers
  • Managing all aspects of materials supply into and through the business
  • Purchasing and expediting materials and parts according to production schedule
  • Supplier liaison and building relationships with new and existing
  • Managing all negotiations around supplier T&C's
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage and non-conformances
  • Analysing inventory and controlling stock levels ensuring effective levels for the business
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve purchasing procedures and increase efficiency
  • Play an active role in NPI from a procurement perspective

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a senior purchasing / Senior Buyer / Purchasing Supervisor role where you have overseen more junior members of the team
  • Must have previous experience buying for a manufacturing or engineering business
  • A strong understanding and experience with MRP/ ERP systems
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of engineering would be ideal
  • A CIPS qualification or working towards would be beneficial
  • Must be computer literate, communicate accurately and effectively
  • Previous and proven experience of cost saving activities
