I have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Logistics Manager to join a market leading, global business, in a role where you will be responsible for leading a specialist logistics team, managing logistics contracts, overseeing the global logistics spend in a role as a key cost influencer. The Senior Logistics Manager will be responsible for:

  • Building a network of logistic carrier partners
  • Working to continuously improve transit time for global movement of materials and products
  • Negotiating contract rates and carrying out cost-down activities
  • Fully understanding the entire logistic operation within the global group and identifying where improvements can be made
  • Drive excellent logistics service levels
  • Assess and resolve any challenges in the logistics supply chain
  • Communicate with internal departments on the correct use of carriers to optimise costs and ensure these procedures are followed
  • Collate data on all logistics usage and report on findings
  • Setting KPI's based on report findings
  • Full man-management of logistics team
  • Build strong relationships with operations, sales and key stakeholders within the business

Skills and Experience

  • Must have previous experience in a Senior Logistics / Operations Management role
  • Proven experience to add value, reduce costs and champion continuous improvement
  • Experience in a large global organisation would be preferred
  • Have completed qualifications in a relevant discipline up to degree level
  • Ideally hold fellow or chartered member of related professional body
