A well-established prestigious manufacturing organisation located in Telford is looking for a Warehouse Shift Supervisor to manage their warehousing team. The purpose of the role is to support manufacturing projects and warranty services while supervising day to day warehousing operations. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for all functioning areas of the shift from goods-in through to despatch.

Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Supervise the day to day operations of the warehouse and the activities of the operatives on shift
  • Develop procedures and policies to improve the existing warehousing operations
  • Ensure all records for goods-in, returns and quarantine items are accurate ensuring warehouse management systems are utilised effectively
  • Act as the point of escalation within the warehouse issues arising on the shift
  • Ensure materials are ordered and there is enough stock to meet requirements
  • Develop material schedules to coordinate the movement of goods
  • Supervision of cycle counting activities and investigation of errors on inventory control
  • Monitors spare parts inventory
  • Prepare reports for warehouse activities as requested by senior management

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience managing teams in modern warehouse environments
  • Excellent level of knowledge and experience covering all areas of warehousing including goods-in, picking, returns and despatch
  • Experience in areas of personnel management such as recruitment, training, appraisals and performance management
  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse management systems
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence
  • A recognized qualification / certification in Warehouse Supervisory practices would be preferred
