This is a role with excellent progression and career development opportunities for the right individual.

Our client looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. The purpose of the role is to assist with the day-to-day supply chain and purchasing activities to ensure the effective flow of product to fulfil sales and service agreements. This is a key role within the business that will see you interacting with other departments to allow proactive planning from a supply chain and stock perspective.

As the Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Raising, placing and progress-chasing purchase orders
  • Assist in the sourcing of new products and requesting information from suppliers
  • Resolving supplier issues including product, supplier performance and special requests
  • Assisting with cost-saving projects and initiatives
  • Monitoring inventory levels to ensure stock holding is within min/max levels and effective values

We are looking for someone who:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing administrator / purchasing assistant / Supply Chain Administrator role
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to fact-find, negotiate, and query where necessary
  • Strong IT Skills and experience with a MRP/ERP system would be advantageous
  • Experience working with a high volume of SKU’s and a good grounding of stock control principles would be ideal but not essential
