Prince are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a successful manufacturing organisation, who are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to lead the Manufacturing operation in the strategic and day-to-day activities of the department whilst providing strong leadership and direction to a large production site.

Reporting directly into the Operations Director, the Operations Manager will be an integral component of the leadership team.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • The development and leadership of the manufacturing, engineering and planning functions
  • Owning and developing the operational plans for the plant
  • Ensuring customer expectations are met and exceeded through efficient production output
  • Analysing of Capex and investment requirements along with preparing proposals
  • Driving improvements through the plant
  • Effective management and development of direct reports (supervisors and team leaders) including developing training, performance management and retention
  • Managing equipment maintenance strategies to achieve minimal downtime
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by enforcing compliance in all aspects of Health, Safety and environmental systems

Skills and Experience required:

  • Strong strategic leadership experience gained within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Educated to a HNC level within a technical discipline as a minimum
  • Experience of implementing lean manufacturing principles
  • Managing departmental budgets
  • Knowledge of the Automotive sector would be advantageous but not essential
