This is an exciting permanent opportunity for our client based in Telford. The Content Executive role will capture the product, service and the people of the business in photography and videography form such that content can be created for online platforms, the company website and other promotional forms. You will be responsible for managing the correct tone of brand voice through these mediums and will have direct accountability for the intelligent and accessible filing of photo and video resources. You will be considered the lead for content production and will need to stay current with regard the ever-moving popularity and use of media channels.

You will be responsible for:

  • The primary task of this role is to have an enquiring and excited mind to understand, keep up to date with and reflect through written copy, content, photography and videography the product, services and people of the company.
  • PR and communications to promote itself in a professional, engaging and best manner to online platforms and social media
  • To always be up to date with the company brand voice, as steered by the company Marketing Manager and Managing Director, so that content collected and created is suitable and reflective.
  • To be the primary person responsible for overseeing the photography bank and its accurate and accessible filing – this may include taking photography in person or working with external suppliers.
  • To be the primary person responsible for overseeing our videography bank and its accurate and accessible filing – this may include managing and guiding shoots and/or working with external suppliers.
  • To be up to date with different social media platforms – the balance of different outlets which work, or otherwise for B2B (business to business) promotion and to plan, guide and create for best uploaded content. To work closely with the Marketing Manager to understand the annual marketing plan and specific campaign work so content to be gathered, produced and published aligns strategically and correctly with sales, promotion, PR and marketing plans.
  • To be the operational contact for the working relationship with the appointed PR and Communications Agency – and to suggest and steer suitable agreed content.
  • To understand the relevant terms and agreements of the client contracts around photography, videography and publishing rights so that, where pre-agreed, the post-holder has approval to either take the content.
  • To be the lead on social media management.
  • To raise awareness of the purpose and benefits of social media for B2B promotion with consideration to brand and sales and marketing objectives to propose content and ideas for implementation.
  • To ensure that, through the use of videography and photography, they can efficiently call upon useful and refreshed imagery for sales and marketing literature which is attention grabbing, striking and fit for brand purpose.
  • To consider the seasons and ensure a comprehensive bank of photo and video material.
  • To ask for, from the sales team, up to date knowledge of key competitors and map out and explain strategies whereby the social media can better appeal and engage.
  • To understand the demographics and user profiles of all the major social media channels and advise upon and manage the best suitable content as such.
  • To accept and understand this role is flexible in its working hours; the role must work at some events from morning to night, across weekends and there will be regular occasion to expect working away from a traditional nine-to-five format. The postholder will be expected to manage their hours accordingly.

Skills and Experience

  • We are looking for someone who is at the early stages of their marketing career, where their skillset is leaning towards good copywriting / creative writing skills and content creation.
  • High attention to detail including good use of grammar and spelling
  • Creative flair and ability to generate unique ideas
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Photo and video production skills and experience
  • Knowledge or experience of software packages used for content creation/upload
  • Excellent knowledge of social media, ideally gained through business and work purposes
  • Excellent listener and communicator, also able to put people at ease to create the best content
  • Personable, able to maintain working relationships at all levels of the Organisation and with clients, suppliers and visitors
  • A self-starter, able to prioritise workload according to urgency and deadline
  • A team player, able to work effectively with the sales team and with wider Group colleagues
