We are currently supporting a successful and established manufacturer in Telford in their search for a Junior Design Engineer. This would be a great opportunity for someone who likes to get heavily involved in all elements of the design process – with the manufacturing being on-site it really allows the design team to view first-hand their creations come to life, as well as offering the opportunity to work with some very high-profile customers. This role is working a 4-day work week (Monday – Thursday) with possible overtime required depending on company needs.
The Junior Design Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Producing 3D concept and production models for a variety of products and components
- Creating production and assembly drawings
- Supporting with testing and calculations to assist with initial design development
- Liaising with suppliers and customers on project requirements and status
- Supporting departments with problem resolution
- Maintaining up to date records and documentation for production and approvals
Skills and Experience
- Previous knowledge and experience using a 3D Design Package – Solidworks
- Degree within a design/engineering/ product design discipline
- This role would suit a candidate who has previously worked as a Graduate Design Engineer / Junior Design Engineer / Graduate Designer / Junior Designer / Graduate Product Designer / Junior Product Designer / Designer
