Prince are supporting a well-established, growing business in Shrewsbury who are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Design Engineer who can support with the development of the design department onsite. This is a great opportunity for someone to come in and get stuck in with a project that allows you to make a positive impact within the business.

You will be working to implement design software within the business and begin transferring design projects inhouse. You will be the sole designer onsite; however, you will have support from other departments and there is the potential to grow and recruit additional designers in the future to expand the team.

This is a fast-paced environment which will see you manage multiple projects from concept through to installation.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Produce 3D designs and engineering drawings
  • Liaise with customers on design requirements and specifications
  • Work to implement design software within the business
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritise accordingly
  • Create BOMs
  • Travel to customer sites when required
  • Provide technical support and advice to internal departments

Skills and Experience:

  • Construction or Steel Fabrication experience – ESSENTIAL
  • Experience with 3D CAD software – ESSENTIAL
  • Project management experience
  • Strong communications skills
  • This role would suit someone who has previously worked as a Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer / Design Manager
