This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-establish manufacturing company based in Telford as an Accounts Assistant. Reporting to the Financial Controller the Accounts Assistant will take responsibility for purchase and sales ledger and collating 4 weekly payroll information for the outsourced payroll provider.

Accounts Assistant responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:

Bank, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable:

  • Daily reporting of invoices raised and cash receipts.
  • Process payments and receipts from bank statement.
  • Process supplier invoices.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers regarding billing and payment issues.

Credit Control:

  • Monitor and manage outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Follow up with customers on overdue accounts via phone, email, and letters.
  • Prepare regular reports on aged debtors and cash collections.
  • Liaise with legal and collection agencies when necessary.

Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and company policies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain and organise financial files and documents.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team and wider operations support team as needed.
  • Support wider business teams with information and data requests.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position you will have previous experience working in a similar role. You will have good attention to detail with a flexible approach with the ability to meet monthly deadlines.
