We are proud to be recruiting for a well-established prestigious manufacturing organisation based on the outskirts of Wolverhampton. They are recruiting for a Shared-Services Accountant to join them on a permanent basis working in their shared service centre. You will mainly be supporting entities in the USA and some in the EMEA region. You are responsible for delivering support to the in-country and plant controllers. You will support the monthly close cycle, financial and statutory reporting and policy compliance. You will be responsible for preparing account reconciliations to be reviewed by the ‘in country’ controller.
Duties will include, but won’t be exclusive to:
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and master data.
- Execute monthly closing steps, including settlements, depreciation, and foreign exchange revaluations.
- Prepare and post journals with proper authorisation and relevant backup documentation.
- Compile and distribute weekly and monthly financial reports.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations, covering balance sheets, P&L, loans, and interest.
- Prepare account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness, with consistent and explainable reconciling items.
- Coordinate timely research and resolution of reconciliation issues.
- Assist with audit requests and provide necessary documentation.
- Engage with in-country controllers, plant controllers, and the Global Capex and Inventory controller.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned, including additional shared site accounting responsibilities.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be at least part-qualified but if you have a strong manufacturing background and have worked in a similar role then you would be considered. To be considered for this role you will have knowledge of financial reporting and analysis, have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to organise and manage multiple projects. Ideally you will have experience of using SAP but this isn’t essential.
